Sleep Coordinator Training

There is no question that sleep coordinator is the KEY to our unique business model.  In order for the program to be successful the sleep coordinator must not only be knowledgeable in terms of sleep disorders, but must understand the business and the personalities of those with whom he or she is dealing on a daily basis.  Our sleep coordinators fill many of the missing pieces of the puzzle in the existing sleep world that prevents our patients from being treated in an unbiased fashion.

During this course our sleep coordinators will be trained to:

  1. Get all patients screened appropriately with the Weisfogel Screener and Adjusted Neck Circumference
  2. Score the screener accurately and efficiently
  3. Learn some optional techniques to have that score information given to the secondary care physician
  4. Read histories and physicals and understand the potential risk factors of OSA for that particular patient
  5. Communicate effectively with the staff in a non invasive manner
  6. Communicate effectively with the patient to educate and motivate them to proceed with testing
  7. Distribute the Home Sleep Study
  8. Create systems in the office for the return of the unit and downloading of the sleep study information
  9. Communicate effectively with the patient to discuss treatment options
  10. Maintain good records of all communication using the HIPPA approved Smart Sheet
  11. Create treatment flow sheet for the patient and guide them through making their appointments either at the dental office or the Sleep Lab.
  12. Follow up in a timely fashion with each and every patient
  13. Proceed with CPAP maintenance appointments as required
  14. Communicate effectively with billing department
  15. Communicate effectively with dental office, sleep lab, and interpreting physician
